Aultmore
Aultmore is a distillery that, despite being founded in 1895, has a modern look thanks to some key updates during the latter part of the twentieth century when its capacity was doubled. The distillery has experienced a number of closures in the late 1800s and early 1900s when it was badly hit by both the Pattison Crash and Prohibition in America. Thankfully, today it is fully operational and counted as one of the key distilleries in the Speyside region, producing a heavier style than the regional norm.
Located on the road between the coastal town of Buckie and the inland town of Keith, it has always been ordered locally by asking for a ‘nip of the Buckie Road’.
