Glenturret

As records go, one of the most highly contested is which distillery can lay claim to being the oldest in Scotland, with several contenders vying for the title.

Glenturret, which can trace its roots back to 1775 is one such place and is arguably one of the most popular distilleries in Scotland, thanks to its proximity to the well-trodden tourist path.

As a single malt, you’ll find just that: an exceptionally malty, rich, honeyed whisky, which is artfully produced by just five workers, from mashing through to the filling of casks. Glenturret is not often bottled as a single malt, but when it is, it both surprises and delights.
