Nose
Fragrant salted lemon and beeswax polish accompany hints of leather. Subtle tropical fruit aromas develop alongside candied orange peel with gentle wisps of smoke.
Taste
Smooth; flavours of ripe honeydew melon and subtle spice are complemented by a soft menthol edge. Grapefruit notes emerge accompanied by flambéed banana and delicate smoky undertones.
Finish
Long and lingering with soft pepper notes on the finish.
Caol Ila Distillery
Tucked away in a quiet cove just north of Port Askaig, Caol Ila is the largest malt whisky distillery on Islay. Originally founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson and operated today by Diageo, Caol Ila whiskies are famed for their distinctive Islay peaty smokiness.
